As my 48th year-round the Sun is finishing and the 49th is rapidly coming to being I would like to share some thoughts.
Yesterday evening as the Sun was setting and I was travelling back home in the car, I put some 80’s music. I do so when I want to give myself some encouragement and at the same time some space to smile and think. You might ask, Why the 80’s? For many reasons but mainly because it was a very tough period in my life, like it is now, but somehow, I felt my whole life was in front of me no matter what.
With all that is happening both at a personal level and at a mundane level, feeling that one has the whole life in front of themselves can be more of a daunting idea that an uplifting thought.
Astrologically speaking I am now finishing two consecutive years of Saturn ruled years. I am used to Saturn in my life, her energy is a very prominent in my natal chart but having Saturn also as the Lord of the year, have been to say the least, hard.
So now you may understand why I have put the 80’s music whilst driving. I had ample time to review all these last two years but also how they ironically and seamlessly they have tied in to all my previous years of life. I understood intimately how every single thing and decision taken in my childhood, my young adult life, and my continual studies have just prepared me for this period in time.
This kind of perspective brought a whole new layer of understanding of having a 12th house profection year and then a 1st house tandemly working together especially if they have the same planet ruler. The 12th house year was literally losing it all with huge doses of despair and fear, the 1st house was losing many things so that the things that endured the passage of time came back into forefront.
At first, I thought I was doing something wrong. This 1st house profection didn’t seem any different from the 12th and yet now looking back it was different because at the end of it I have brought together not a mess but a new me. All the skills I studied in all of these last 29-30 years they are now coming all together in a snug fit that not even in my wildest dreams I would have envisioned. 1st house is where we find the whole life of the native, nothing excluded.
My 49th year is going to be my Jupiter ruled 2nd house year. The second house is what sustains me, be it my skills, assets, finances, and money. So, all that has been brought together in this last year will now be put to practice so to sustain me in my life.
In my Solar Return I find again Saturn ruling my first and ruling also my second house. And Saturn is in my second house of Solar Return, applying retrograde to the cusp of my second house. Definitely my skills are going to be the crux of it all besides the money issues. But I also find Jupiter in my second house although not in the best of states. So, the leaving ruler of the profection and the new ruler of the 49th year are cohabiting the same house. Both are retrograde, so it will take time and much trying until I get it right. There is also a lovely mutually applying trine of Venus in Libra ruler of Solar Return MC to retrograde Jupiter in Aquarius. And Jupiter is applying to the MC, the house of my career and legacy in this year, from the second house of money. Seems promising although I think much hard work is involved and the fruits will be seen later in the years to come. But I will let you know how it goes in a year’s time.
In the meantime, yesterday whilst I was mellowing in the 80’s music and reminiscing of how in that hard period of my life I still felt the whole world at my feet, and whilst driving noticing both Jupiter, Saturn and Venus getting brighter in the darkening skies, Jupiter did whisper something:
My dear, you still have the whole world at your feet. Until the day you die it is not game over yet.
