On the 29th of December 2021 at 04:09 UTC, Jupiter comes back to his nighttime house of Pisces. This is the second time he is attempting to come back home.
The first time was between the 14th of May 2021, but then Jupiter went retrograde and exited Pisces on the 28th of July 2021. Now Jupiter will stay in Pisces until the 11th of May 2022. It then goes into Aries but then retrogrades and returns to Pisces from the 29th of October 2022 to the 20th of December 2022.
Who is Jupiter?
Jupiter as a planet is warm and moist. It is that just perfect combination of heat and moisture to favour growth. His action, in general, is temperate, doesn’t go to extremes. Jupiter’s heat brings movement, buoyancy, rises up to the occasion. Although Jupiter brings a sense of liberation and lightness due to the heat content, Jupiter’s actions are not rash but just.
The fairness of Jupiter is due to his inner moisture content that gives the ability to feel, to be receptive and open to possibilities. Understanding the other and being in their shoes fosters benevolence, mercy, and justice.
The energy of Jupiter is diurnal. It radiates outwards towards the outer world. It is reactive, yang, masculine.
As a temperament, Jupiter is sanguine. An extrovert that goes by feeling or intuition. Jupiter seeks to create social connections in the forms of codes of conduct, philosophes, law, and teaching. The warm part brings the lightness of being, cheerfulness. The moist part brings the art of networking through societal contacts.
Jupiter in traditional astrology is called the Greater Benefic; his temperate actions help life flourish in abundance. His sense of lightness brings joy to life. His ability to be open and at the same time take action to connect with the most distant parts of Creation brings cohesion out of chaos and faith that everything is possible.
Pisces Energy
Pisces is Water, mutable, nocturnal energy.
Water is the universal solvent of Creation. Water accepts nearly everything, and everything leaves an impression on Water. There is a constant and continuous exchange between Water and the dissolved substance.
Water shifts and adapts, taking the shape of the container it is being held in. Although Water is very adaptable, it is self-centred, reflective in nature. The bonds that keep the water molecule together are among the strongest in nature. Water natural movement is downwards.
The energy of this water element in Pisces is in constant movement. The natural ability of Water to shift and change is further enhanced by the need for the Mutable energy to change focus and direction according to how feelings mature and decay.
The Water Mutable energy of Pisces is naturally directed inwards. It is centripetal in action. It is more reflective than reactive. Introverted.
Jupiter in Pisces
Jupiter finds in Pisces his nocturnal home because the energy of Pisces enhances the natural expression of Jupiter. Jupiter finds everything he needs to be Jupiter.
The Water content of Pisces gives Jupiter a more extraordinary ability to link and connect, feel, be impressed and impress, and share and be shared. Water brings abundance by dissolving nearly anything, and almost everything has water in it.
The Mutable energy, with its constant movement, adaptability, and the possibility to infiltrate everywhere and anything, brings Jupiter further possibility to expand, get to know and “see” remote places of Creation, and bring them back together into a new form.
The nocturnal, inward going energy gives Jupiter’s natural tendency to explore the possibility to discover the inner world of dreams and mysticism. The yin energy of Pisces tempers down the natural yang energy of Jupiter, or perhaps give Jupiter another way of perceiving Creation. To the natural exhale of Jupiter, Pisces brings the inhale. To the organic exuberance of Jupiter, Pisces brings the calmness of letting be.
Pisces gives Jupiter the ability to feel the entire world and beyond as a whole. Yet in that very wholeness live the various forms of existence. Every single breath of Creation becomes a serenade to the Soul of the Divine.
Obviously, there could be too much of a good thing. Jupiter usually has no limits; that is Saturn’s domain. Water natural ability to infiltrate everywhere and slowly corrode everything makes Jupiter in Pisces a sure candidate of lost in the ethers or gone with the fairies. With Jupiter in Pisces, things can become very nebulous and deceptive.
Water softens everything. Too much permeability can become a problem. There are things, ecosystems, that need to be kept separate to work efficiently. Feelings and empathy are vital; they create social cohesion. However, feeling too much can overload our system with the risk of losing one’s identity.
The loosing of the Great Conjunction
Saturn and Jupiter, in certain aspects, can be seen as two forces that counteract each other’s actions. They are the timekeepers of our Solar system. Whilst Jupiter is called the Greater Benefic, Saturn is called the Greater Malefic. Jupiter the warm and moistening planet, Saturn is the cold and drying planet. Jupiter is abundance whilst Saturn is scarcity. Jupiter brings cohesion, and Saturn brings division. Jupiter is pro-life; Saturn is the reaper of life.
Jupiter has been since the 3rd of December 2019 in Saturn ruled signs, Capricorn and Aquarius. Jupiter had to abide by Saturn’s rules. In Capricorn, Jupiter meets his downfall; in Aquarius, although slightly better, it is not much.
It is worth noting that Jupiter’s stay in Saturn’s signs was whilst Saturn was strong and happy in his own signs. Co-habitation of the two was a tough one for Jupiter. So, we had a debilitated or constricted Greater Benefic whilst the Greater Malefic was solid in his power.
On a world level, this has led to the predominance of Saturn’s virtues, such as limitations, setting of boundaries, constrictions, contractions, deprivation, loss, and facing of humanity with its greatest fears.
The Great Conjunction on the 21st of December 2020 at 0 degrees of Aquarius set the pace for the next twenty years, with Saturn having the upper hand. The immediate effect of the Great Conjunction starts to diminish once Saturn and Jupiter start to separate not only by degrees but especially by sign.
Jupiter entering Pisces not only is welcoming from the point of view that Jupiter gains strength and a certain kind of equilibrium is re-established. It is also crucial from the point of view that the Great Conjunction starts losing its focused power. The ultimate dissolution of the direct influences of the Great Conjunction will occur when Saturn leaves his sign of Aquarius where the Great Conjunction happened. This happens on the 8th of March 2023.
What to expect with Jupiter in Pisces?
Jupiter in Pisces will bring forth cohesive action through more inclusive laws, inviting compassion than division. Kindness towards others will again become part of how a society interrelates.
Pisces is a mute sign. We will see social trends using fewer words but more art. More instincts than logic. More listening and reflection than action and reaction. A general increase in mysticism, a search for spirituality. Bringing the Soul back into the equation of daily living, art infiltrating science and softening the edges. The tendency to escape in multi-dimensions, be it by technology, drugs, art or fleeing on a boat circumnavigating the globe, will be increased.
From photography to painting and all in-between, art will come to save the world from its bruteness. The film industry will see a huge comeback. Marketing and advertising will become more subtle, illusory, and deceptive.
Regression therapies, hypnosis, mediumship, psychic faculties, holistic therapies will get a boost.
All work, law, study, discoveries, and tourism involving water in general and oceans, in particular, will be highlighted.
At an individual level
Jupiter in Pisces is an invitation to delve more into the inner world that holds the outer one. Like the fish that feel the sea changing through receptors spread all over their bodies, Jupiter in Pisces invites us to feel with all of ourselves.
It is an invitation to listen with all our being, to cultivate a silent inner dialogue with Creation. To pause, reflect, shift and change as the dance of life proceeds. As the two fishes dance in and out of the ocean of life, Jupiter invites us to welcome the duality of life as a form of sacred relationship.
Jupiter in Pisces invites us in the intimate dance of the Cosmos, folding and unfolding whilst falling eternally in love with itself.
