Sun in Pisces: The Fractal Web of Creation

On the 18th of February 2022, at 16:42, UTC Sun has entered the house of Pisces, the nighttime temple of Jupiter.

After two rounds of Saturn ruled months, Capricorn and Aquarius, we transition to a Jupiter ruled period, Pisces. We enter again a mutable phase of the year where the dynamics between light and dark periods of the day become more pronounced and herald the shift to a new upcoming season.

Let us analyse Pisces from the basics up.

Pisces is element Water

The Water element, energetically speaking, is cold and wet.

Besides cold as temperature-wise, what is also meant by cold is that it is low in energy potential. It is not excitable. Water is reflective in nature, filling the space that holds it whilst flowing inexorably down. Water's natural movement is downwards.

What is meant by wet, besides the physical perception, is the tendency of Water to infiltrate everywhere, creating connections with whatever surrounds it. Give Water enough time, and it will soften and dissolve most of the matter here on Earth.

Water not only dissolves material but is also permeable to substances and energies. Whatever passes through Water leaves an imprint. Water remembers as demonstrated by Dr. Masaru Emoto.

Pisces is nocturnal energy

By nocturnal energy, we mean that the power of Water in Pisces is turned inwards, centripetal. It is the night's energy where things are muted, instinctive and intuitive.

Pisces is mutable energy

The Water energy in Pisces is in constant motion, feeling its way through multiple points. The flow direction is changed according to what intuition brings, which solute dissolves in Water and the impressions it leaves on the Water molecules.

The Water in Pisces brings to conclusions situations by equilibrating or pushing the energy in one part or another. By flowing in all directions, all routes will eventually receive knowledge from all the other paths creating a harmonising effect stretching beyond the primary loci.

When Water finds an obstacle in the middle of its flow, it will flow around the block with no effort. One way or another, Water will find a way to infiltrate through. Whatever information was on one side will permeate on the other side. Erosion is Water's ultimate destructive power.

Pisces is the temple of Jupiter

Jupiter is intrinsically warm and moist. It is that perfect combination of heat and temperature to favour growth and win the gamble with life. The intrinsic heat and dryness of fire are moderated by moisture making it more suitable to life in its joyous expression of enjoyment and abundance.

The intrinsic warm and moist energy of Jupiter is proactive, inviting movement and connectedness. It swells, disseminates, and brings cohesion through social bonds, be it between persons, cells or Creation at large.

In Pisces, the Jupiterian energy gets an even greater dose of moisture, and the heat is highly mitigated. What emerges is a nurturing and contemplative energy that sustains internal growth that can be silently felt but not seen.

Sun in the house of Pisces

When Sun passes in the house of Pisces, it does so after going through two houses ruled by Saturn, the Great Malefic, her natural "enemy".

However, Jupiter and Sun are friends. When Sun reaches the house of Pisces, the home of the Great Benefic, it does so not only with relief but also knowing allies are now watching her back.

Sun in Pisces brings to our attention the ever-changing tides of the Universe. Pisces season is when the weather changes fast and light edges daily to its final takeover in Aries (in the northern hemisphere). Whatever the situation, there is a centripetal impulse to find new ways of being, although not overtly.

What has been, has expired and what it will be is still in the making.

The coldness and wetness of winter start shifting to less cold and much moisture. We can feel it inside that a long period has finished. There is a sense of "we made it through", respite, "we are nearly there".

When Sun is in Pisces, it explores energy dispersion in torrents and currents, delving into various possibilities with gusto. And because Pisces is Jupiter-ruled, Sun does so with optimism and lightness of being.

The inward going water energy dreamily guides the Sun to explore the more hidden realms of the Universe. The infinite molecules dissolved in the great ocean of Creation become a universe of their own, yet all connected by invisible threads to a unifying principle.

Pisces in Medical Astrology

Pisces in medical astrology rules the area feet and the toes, the part of our body which is always in contact with the Earth so that we may soar to the sky.

The feet and the toes are an incredible part of our anatomy, whose complexity is only appreciated when we hurt ourselves. The foot has 26 bones, 33 joints and over 100 ligaments, which can all move independently or interconnectedly, interwoven with an intricate and extensive vascular and nervous system.

The feet and toes help us keep our balance with infinitesimal detail, continuously shifting our weight for optimal and stable positioning. The foot not only holds us erect, walking, running, and climbing, but it also provides pressure. Hence, fluids accumulating in the lower bodies due to gravity find their way back to the heart.

Another fascinating part of the body that Pisces rules is the lymphatic system. Without the lymphatic system, we would have no communication with the cellular and intracellular matrix. Yes, the arteries and veins take care of the macro flow, which we can visibly see. However, with its porous and permeable lining, the lymphatic system takes care to connect and dialogue with all the peripheral structures and different ecosystems in our body.

With its fine meshwork of "waterways," the lymphatic system manages fluid homeostasis of the extracellular matrix, cellular hydration, and natural defence filtration.

Pisces also rules the parasympathetic system. That is the part of our nervous system that helps us relax, digest, rebuild and sleep, reminding us that there is a time for everything in this world.

Summary

When the Sun passes in Pisces, it reminds us to switch on our inner intuitive gaze to explore what is not immediately seen but only felt. Pisces energy reminds us to become porous and permeable to the subtle energies composing the song of life.

Sun in Pisces invites us to look to the fractal web that holds and unfolds Creation with our inner senses.

The pulsating fractal Web of Creation: so vague and illusory yet so potent, mystical, unifying, and life-giving.

Wishing you health, joy and prosperity,

Hilary
