On the 11th of May 2022, at 11:22 UTC, Jupiter entered Aries, the diurnal temple of Mars. That is quite a shift from the Jupiter in Pisces we had for these last months.
Jupiter will remain in Aries till the 28th of October 2022, when at 05:09 UTC, Jupiter dives back into Pisces. And comes back again into Aries on the 20th of December 2022 at 14:32 UTC and stays there until the 17th of May 2023.
Who is Jupiter?
Jupiter is called the Greater Benefic, a friend of the Sun, and the most Radiant One in ancient astrology. That is quite a title. Well, he is, after all, Jupiter, less you can’t expect.
He is the archetype responsible for bringing the rule of the Sun on Earth to dominate Chaos and create Order. It is not the Order that comes through constriction and negation; that is Saturn’s domain. Jupiter’s ability to bring Order is through inner cohesion, like a tuning fork that sets the tone for all the rest to follow.
If we had to look at Jupiter from the energetical standpoint, Jupiter is temperate warm and moist.
What does warm mean in this context? Warm means having a heating effect, animating things, kinetic energy, and movement. Jupiter is not an energy that stays still and, like heated air, tends to expand and rise.
What does moist mean? In this context, water is present, and water creates links and bonds. Just research how many things water dissolves in it and how many reactions occur in water. Water establishes the ability to feel the other through chemical reactions, creating connections.
I have described Jupiter several times in my previous blog posts. You might find them helpful to read and see the progression in different elements.
And now, let us turn to the house Jupiter will reside on and off for a year.
Who is Aries?
Short version: Aries is cardinal, Fire, diurnal energy, day temple of Mars.
Translation: I want it. I get it. Your problem, not mine. Period.
Longer version:
Cardinal means the energy that shifts things from zero to warp speed. It is an energy that creates crises because it breaks the movement of the previous momentum and sets it moving fast in another direction. It is an ignition moment. The power gives birth to something new.
Fire is thought to be the element nearest to the original energy that gave birth to the Cosmos. Fire leads the way, inspires, dares, gives passion and courage, hot-temper and absolutely unruly.
Diurnal energy means energy like the Sun, outward going, masculine, yang accelerates motion.
Mars is hot, dry, spicy, and irritative. The energy that creates by separation, attrition, tension, and division. Mars defends and fights for what it thinks is his by right.
I talk more about Aries energy in this blog post.
Now how does Jupiter behave when he is in Aries?
Getting to know Jupiter in Aries
What immediately jumps to attention is that Jupiter and Aries energy have Fire as a denominating factor. From this point of view, they sure will set the world in a conflagration. Jupiter finds in Aries fuel for his desire to move, expand, enlarge, inspire, and incite. In a way, this is Jupiter on steroids.
Both Jupiter and Aries are diurnal energy, so their combined action will be in the outside world for all to see.
What Aries subtracts from Jupiter is the water content. Aries is hot and dry. Jupiter is warm and moist. Aries diminishes the capacity of Jupiter to connect with empathy and soulfulness.
Now Jupiter is a guy that looks at the big picture and not the detail. By nature, he is already detached from the minute nuisances needed for human interaction to go smoothly. He is Lord of Cosmic Order, not Diplomacy. Fire acerbates further this intrinsic modality of Jupiter. Fire drives Jupiter further up in the sky, forgetting the little detail he could digest and setting the few proclivities ablaze.
Where can we find Jupiter in Aries?
In practice, Jupiter in Aries is Gnosis wearing Armour. Spiritual truth is no longer a personal inner quest but a cause to ram through the whole world.
Justice becomes tinged with martial law, and upholding it means living by way of the sword.
Jupiter in Aries is the Pope that starts a crusade, a holy war.
What Jupiter and Mars have in common is their love for freedom. Jupiter donates freedom to others by releasing bonds. Mars either fights for or defends his freedom.
With Jupiter in Aries, freedom, self-rule, and personal and national sovereignty will become something to fight for, whether in courts, parliament, streets, or frontiers. The universal ethics of Jupiter embraces the morals of Mars and Aries.
We will see feverishly debated laws concerning violence, war, war crimes, murder, bloodshed, adultery, rape, sexual intercourse and abortion.
Through the energy of Aries, Jupiter brings wealth and abundance to anyone who wants to initiate something new, pioneering, a trailblazer that doesn’t bother with the what-if or consequences.
Especially indicated anything connected with fire, iron, sharp objects, dangerous occupations or adventure seekers, mechanics, and mechanical engineering. Anything that requires physical effort and hard work. A simple example of this would be the sports and physical fitness industry.
Aries is a bestial sign, so Jupiter will bring his patronage to all those that work with animals and what derives from such activities. Mars loves daring and anything that requires hunting. Chasing becomes not only a game but a spiritual path. We will probably see an increase in hunting, be it for sports or necessity and the right to hold arms and weapons.
Jupiter is associated with alliances. With Jupiter in Aries, we expect agreements and organizations to form around war and the war and defence industry. Countries that signs treaties based on mutual defence. Dynamic and perhaps impetuous confederations. Fellowships with marked Martian overtures, such as the return of the knights and chivalry orders, obviously with a modern twist.
Jupiter in Aries at an Individual Level
In general, Jupiter in Aries will bring more energy to start endeavours that previously seemed impossible to do or too big to overcome. The Aries ruled house in our natal chart has a boost of abundance and luck. Jupiter bestows gifts, but then it is up to us to make the best of what has been donated.
Something not to forget and fundamental about Jupiter’s ultimate purpose is cohesion through natural law. In our Aries ruled house, Jupiter lets fall what is not resonating with our authentic selves and brings back the scattered bits lost in the journey.
Jupiter in Aries in each of us will awaken the sense of identity through the Power of I. What we have accumulated on ourselves that does not resonate with our own personal power will burn into ashes. What will remain is our own personal integrity to use through the power of our own truth.
Individually, Jupiter will help us break the bonds that have shackled us to someone else’s ideology. And this will require eager, spontaneous courage that only Mars, through Aries energy, can give. Some shackles are very subtle. They provide comfort even if, somehow, we know we are chained.
Jupiter will help us remember who we are, but only if we dare believe again in our own authority and sovereignty. Prisoners, we become if prisoners we allow ourselves to be. Jupiter in Aries gives us the key, knife, or hammer, and it is up to us to break free.
Jupiter in Aries is here. It is time to break the bonds and embody freedom.
